Checking The Cameras… The Countdown Begins!

September 12, 2014

I know, I know… my friends back in CA have been hunting for weeks (months, in some cases), and the NC archery season back home is opening this weekend.  I still have to wait until the 27 for Texas archery to fire up, but I’m about as ready as I can get!  I pulled the pictures off the cameras the other day, and I’m pretty stoked about the possibilities.

Bachelor Party

These boys are just enjoying an evening snack before heading out to the club.

They've popped in for a late dinner.

This guy will probably get a pass this year. He's got great potential... if he survives the season.

One of these things is not like the others.

Yupp… it’s one of the neighbor’s peacocks. There’s a group of about five that travel through here. Iggy usually chases them off before they can get up past the house, but I guess this one slipped through. I’ve often considered shooting one or two of them, but now that I know someone claims them, I’d prefer not to start trouble. Iggy got out chasing rabbits or something the other night and ended up at his house… somewhere around 02:30. A lot of folks out here would have just shot him, and it would have been perfectly legal, but this guy was nice enough to come get me so I could retrieve my retriever. Makes me glad I never shot the peacocks (or the goats).
